Image degradation due to respiratory motion remains a challenge for cardiac MR/PET imaging. Although novel approaches for MR/PET motion compensation have been
recently introduced, most of these schemes usually only acquire motion information from MRI data during the PET acquisition, and diagnostic MR data afterwards.

Moyamoya disease requires follow-up for a long period of time, and ASL is very well suited for the evaluation of this disease. The multi-PLD PCASL is significant as a screening tool because it provides information on whole-brain perfusion distribution in a 3D rCBF map as well as information on pseudo hemodynamics.

3D Localization is an efficient and reliable way to localize cardiac views, especially in unfamiliar anatomical territory e.g. complex cardiomyopathies, post- surgical changes, or animal scans. For new trainees, the ability to visualize anatomy in 3D also promotes a better understanding and appreciation of the required angulations.

Thoracic outlet syndrome is a condition in which nerves, arteries or veins are compressed. This can lead to pain, weakness, and occasionally loss of muscle at the base of the thumb. Occationally, these cases are referred to MRI and the article describes how such scans can be performed easily, efficiently, and accurately.

This 70-year-old woman presented to the emergency room with acute onset of severe chest pain. No prior history of trauma. The pain started after a quarrel with her 45-year old daughter. The electrocardiogram did not reveal evidence of ischemic ST segment deviations. Creatinine kinase was of borderline value (10 U/L), but cardiac troponin T was elevated (2.15 µg/L). Coronary artery disease was ruled out by emergency coronary angiography. However, left ventricular angiography demonstrated apical ballooning with a reduced left ventricular ejection fraction.

As MR has evolved, the definition of TR has become quite complex, particularly with gated sequences. This article begins with an introduction to TR, covering its definition in spin echo and multislice fast spin echo sequences, and subsequently discusses in depth its definition in the plethora of cardiac gated sequences employed in modern imaging.

A 59 year-old man presents with long QT-syndrome and recurrent collapse. Neurologic assessment failed to reveal any abnormalities or pathologic findings. Ultrasound screening of the supraaortic arteries (including specifically the internal carotid and vertebral arteries) was unremarkable.

This is a 16-year-old female with a known history of hypoplastic right ventricle, who was being evaluated for three episodes of dizziness on standing, each lasting 5-10 minutes.
