Imaging of the pancreas represents a diagnostic challenge for both radiologists and clinicians because of overlapping clinical, radiological, and pathological features. The wide range of both solid and cystic lesions requires an in-depth knowledge of the pathology, and the application of the best imaging techniques in order to arrive at the correct diagnosis. Multiparametric MRI allows to obtain morphological and functional images, which are useful in addressing most pathological conditions of the pancreas. Giovanni Morana et al. (Treviso, Italy) give an overview of MR techniques and clinical applications.
