The article describes the successful integration of a multiparametric MRI technique to monitor response to treatment in patients with rectal cancer. A voxel-by-voxel multiparametric analysis strategy has been adopted and early results show this is important in quantitatively assessing heterogeneity within the entire tumor region, and the changes in response to CRT in rectal cancer.

This article shows the benefits of a 32-channel body coil for large field-of-view imaging in the abdomen and pelvis, including MR Angiography. The evolution of parallel imaging techniques has been very rapid, with realization of their full potential requiring development and utilization of MR systems with up to 32 receiver channels.
