Clinical History:
A 71 year old male presenting with pain in the right knee.
Diagnosis:
Tear of the prepatellar quadriceps continuation.
MR Technique:
3.0 Tesla scanner (Siemens Verio) using an 8-channel knee coil. Image 1: sagittal T2_TSE_384_ACL (TR/TE 2800/81 ms, scan time 1 min 35 sec, slice thickness 2 mm); Image 2: sagittal PD_TSE_FS (TR/TE 2380/36 ms, scan time 1 min 23 sec *2, slice thickness 3 mm).
Imaging Findings:
Tear of the prepatellar quadriceps continuation is seen with a focal fluid collection in the prepatellar soft tissues.
